Stantec expands Philadelphia Buildings Engineering team

By Stantec
Lok Yoon

Stantec today announced the strategic addition of a highly seasoned mechanical engineer to its Buildings practice in Philadelphia. Lok Yoon PE, LEED AP has joined the global design firm as a senior associate, where he will apply his nearly 35 years of extensive industry expertise as a lead senior mechanical engineer and technical resource.

In his role, Yoon leads mechanical, engineering, and plumbing (MEP) teams on a wide range of project types. This expertise is informed by his comprehensive experience in the education, science and technology, healthcare, and commercial markets, where Yoon applies innovative approaches to help projects achieve greater energy efficiencies and individual occupant controls. As a result, many of his projects have earned LEED certification at the Gold and Platinum levels.

As a trusted industry resource, Yoon has provided expert testimony and review over more than 50 high-end condominiums in Manhattan and New Jersey. He is also an active member of ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

“Lok brings an in-depth technical knowledge to his role, along with a passion for complex, cutting-edge projects,” said Megan Holmes, managing leader of the Philadelphia Architecture & Engineering group at Stantec. “His commitment to innovation and excellence perfectly complements our team philosophy to client delivery, and will support the ongoing growth of the Buildings group in the region.”

Yoon joins Stantec during a time of strategic growth for the Philadelphia Buildings practice. Within the past year, the group welcomed two additional seasoned professionals to the team.

Adam Ferrari has joined as an associate in Architecture, focused on design across multiple sectors. Ferrari provides expertise in urban planning and design, community engagement, community development, affordable housing development, economic development, and process design.

Additionally, Paul Leonard has joined Stantec’s Philadelphia office as a principal, engineering discipline leader. In this role, he is dedicated to integrated project solutions for a range of project types including research laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, mission critical infrastructure, and utility infrastructure.

Stantec’s Philadelphia office includes over 150 architects, project managers, engineers and interior design professionals providing services to the healthcare, education, commercial and public sectors. Stantec is proud to be ranked as a top ten architecture firm by Architectural Record. The firm’s multidisciplinary Philadelphia team delivers environments that strive to preserve and improve our community.
