Rich Davies Receives Honorary AIA
AIA Philadelphia congratulates Rich Davies, esquire, on receipt of the Honorary AIA designation from the American Institute of Architects. Rich is the current Chair for the Center for Architecture and Design (Center) Board of Directors and sits on critical program committees including AIA Philadelphia’s Forum on Architecture and Design professional conference and the Center’s program to engage children in design education, Architecture in Education as well as the citywide design festival, DesignPhiladelphia. Also, he has delivered approximately 100 continuing education courses to architects identifying legal issues and informing them of changes in the law that impact their practice. Rich continues to be a volunteer, advisor, and supporter of both the Charter High School and the Community Design Collaborative.
For nearly 20 years, Rich has served the architectural profession in Pennsylvania as a lawyer and active member of the greater Philadelphia community concerned about the built environment and how it impacts our lives. His service is predicated upon his deep understanding and appreciation of the critical and valuable role that architects play in building the communities of today and tomorrow. Rich donates his time sharing his experiences of how architects and other design professionals can avoid and/or minimize liability in project disputes, and how to draft contract documents.
In addition to this honor, Rich has been recognized by the Construction Lawyers’ Society of America as a Fellow and is a member of the Legal Counsel Forum of the American Counsel of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Rich is a partner at Milber Makris Plousadis and Seiden, LLP and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the State University of New York Law School.
