Daroff Design Inc. and DDI Architects, PC (DDI), recently completed the interior renovation of Philadelphia International Airport's Terminal and Concourse B, by designing eight new restaurants and retail venues for OTG. The 60,000 square feet development provides a glimpse into the future of air travel for those passing through.

DDI was a perfect partner for OTG to bring these new restaurant concepts to life. Having completed several major renovation projects at multiple Terminals in the Philadelphia International Airport over the course of the past 20 + years, the DDI team understands the evolving food and beverage trends at international airports, one of many factors that inspired OTG + DDI's team approach.

As the Architect of Record and Interior Designer, DDI worked with OTG Management, a New York-based national food and beverage provider, to create a hospitality centric ambience for air travelers. The $30 million-dollar renovation expands retail offerings, grab and go food concessions and restaurants with varied, unique cuisine.

The renovation includes expanded retail offerings, grab+go food concessions and several new restaurants open to gate lounges featuring sophisticated furniture, dining tables and countertops equipped with iPads for quick ordering food, gaming entertainment and fast ease of payment for travelers on the go. Passengers are able to get flight updates, browse the web, play games, and order food and drinks to be delivered to the comfort of their seat.

Each restaurant design is unique to its featured cuisine, with venues like LOVE Grille, Independence Prime, and Germantown Biergarten giving reference to local city neighborhoods and icons.

Rosini Engineering and Reveal Design Group joined the DDI project design team while we collaborated with Michelle Robinson Design and MarketPlace PHL, LLC to facilitate the approvals and construction of the project.
