Now open, DanDan, a sizzling new restaurant designed by Strada

By Stacey Blankin

Bring your appetite to DanDan, the latest addition to Philadelphia’s dining scene. Strada was delighted to work with Cat Chiang and Kevin Huang in designing the authentic Sichuan and Taiwanese restaurant occupying a former print shop on the first floor of a Frank Furness building in the heart of the Rittenhouse Row district.
The stunning 2,200-SF restaurant features a new mezzanine that was inserted into the first floor space to form an additional dining area overlooking a double-height bar. Subtle nods to Taiwanese culture are evident in the oversized wall graphic of DanDan noodles and the luminescent shell-paned globes that float overhead. Natural woods, concrete countertops, subway tile, and LED fixtures create a contemporary, edgy yet elegant atmosphere that celebrates the spicy noodles traditionally sold by walking street vendors.
