Bernardon Hires Philip Yocum as Historic Preservation Architect

Philadelphia, PA – September 24, 2019. Philip Yocum, RA, LEED AP has joined the architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture firm of Bernardon as Architect specializing in historic preservation.

Yocum brings more than thirty-five years of experience in preservation and adaptive reuse of historic structures, higher education, and civic and cultural design. He will be responsible for management of various historic preservation and other types of projects for Bernardon’s diverse client base as well as serving as a resource to all three of Bernardon’s office locations.

"Having worked in our region since 1982, Phil is well known and respected, and brings a wealth of preservation planning and design experience to our firm,” said Bill Holloway, a principal and vice president of Bernardon. “His network and local knowledge of southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware will be instrumental in helping us achieve our long-range goals for the preservation of our region’s historic and cultural resources.”

Previously, Yocum was Preservation Architect at JMA/Commonwealth Heritage Group, and President/Architect at Philip Yocum Architect.

Yocum is active in many organizations, including the West Chester Historical & Architectural Review Board and the Association for Preservation Technology. He is a founding member of the West Chester Preservation Awards Program in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Established in 1973, Bernardon provides architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture services to a wide range of clients including private, corporate, and institutional. The 80-person firm operates offices in Philadelphia, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware.
