The Architect’s Newspaper and KieranTimberlake team up to bring Facades+AM to Philadelphia Sept. 25th
The Architect’s Newspaper and Matthew Krissel, Partner at KieranTimberlake are bringing Facades+AM to Philadelphia for the first time ever this September.
Over the past six years the Facades+ conferences bring the best of building envelopes and the issues surrounding them to local audiences of AEC professionals. The rapidly developing technologies for high-performance facades have emerged as the key to building integration. They are are central to the realization of resilient buildings and a working towards a sustainable built environment. The building skin combines attributes of appearance and performance like nothing else in architecture. There is much to discuss. We invite you to join the conversation as we bring this forum to Philadelphia.
This Morning Forum and Expo will feature three conversations from leading Philadelphia-area firms. The day will start with a discussion of computational techniques for facades that can catalyze imagination, drive meaningful exploration, and create new possibilities in architecture. It will also look at the how architecture in Philadelphia expands the definition of performance and how envelopes can shape a sense of place, desire, and cultural identity. Lastly, the forum will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with Philadelphia’s growth beyond center city as it relates to scale, materiality, and vitality and the role of architecture in creating a vision for the city.
The Methods + Materials Gallery will feature leading manufacturers from around the region and across the country who will be on hand to demonstrate products and techniques that match your project requirements.
Join your peers on Monday, September 25th from 8:30-12:30 at the National Museum of American Jewish History.
