American Society of Civil Engineers Named Kirk Harman as Structural Engineer of the Year
The Harman Group is pleased to announce the firm’s President and Managing Principal, Kirk Harman, PE, SE, SECB, FACI, was named American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Philadelphia Chapter, Structural Engineer of the Year. The award honors a structural engineer who is committed to the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

For the past 35 years, with Kirk’s leadership. The Harman Group team has completed structural engineering for many visionary projects that advance Philadelphia area healthcare and education systems, government/office workplaces, multi-family living, entertainment venues, parking facilities, and more. Award-winning projects under Kirk’s leadership include the Aramark Headquarters, Bridge on Race, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, expansions, Hamilton Garden at The Kimmel Center, 3601 Market Street, The Alexander and more.
Kirk’s passion for structural engineering is exemplified by his commitment to the industry, including his membership and participation in several organizations, including ACSE, American Institute of Steel Construction, and serving as the President of the Philadelphia Chapter for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. Additionally, he has contributed articles to a variety of trade publications, taught graduate-level structural engineering courses at two universities and presented seminars at numerous conferences and other venues throughout his career. Kirk is a true leader and role model to his peers as well as the next generation of structural engineers.
