Atkin Olshin Schade Architects was founded in 1979. The firm has offices in Philadelphia, PA and Santa Fe, NM. AOS Architects works with institutions and communities across the country to lead the planning, design and construction of significant new facilities, and to give new life and purpose to existing structures. We have a deep commitment to environmental and cultural sustainability, ranging from urban to rural, and historic to contemporary projects. We work with museums, cultural institutions and universities in major cities, small towns and historic sites. Our principals, associates, and project teams are closely involved with our clients and committed to meeting the budget, environmental, and scheduling goals of every project while making places that enrich and sustain the lives of their users. Our work has won many national, state, and local awards for design and preservation.

Projects 
Much of the firm’s work today is with academic, religious, and cultural institutions that want to balance their need for growth with their commitment to the preservation of the historic character and scale of their existing facilities. Recently completed projects include renovations to Brown Hall at Princeton University; a tennis pavilion at Episcopal Academy; renovations to exhibits, storage, and study areas at the Union League of Philadelphia; and a Master Plan for Eastern State Penitentiary. Current projects include, a new campus center for The Loomis Chaffee School, renovations for College Hall at the University of Pennsylvania, DKE Fraternity at Lafayette College, renovations to Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Dillon Gymnasium at Princeton University. Over the history of the firm, Atkin Olshin Schade Architects has had the honor to work on a number of performing arts space for educational, liturgical, and institutional clients. Some of our past work includes Deerfield Academy, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, and the Academy of Music. Recently completed and current work includes renovations to Blauvelt Theater at Friends Select School, renovation and rehabilitation at the Old Metropolitan Opera House, and a Master Plan for the Department of Music at the University of Delaware. Religious clients includes St David’s Episcopal Church, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, and St Paul’s Episcopal Church.
