About the Firm
MISSION
Archer & Buchanan Architecture is a full service architectural design firm meeting the needs of sophisticated clients who value a collaborative design process, attention to detail and quality construction. Since our inception in 1996, Archer & Buchanan has been recognized for exceptional design of residential projects including new homes, additions, renovations and historic restorations; equestrian facilities; and institutional projects including work for educational, not-for-profit and commercial clients. Our philosophy begins with the belief that buildings will be inhabited for a century or more and should continue to gain character, beauty and value as the years pass.
COLLABORATION
Whether serving the private homeowner, institution, or organization, Archer & Buchanan believes that a successful project is one that enhances the site and reflects the unique character and desires of our clients. Design is an interactive process requiring the ability to listen, synthesize, and respond to a wide range of demands and requirements. We promote a collaborative process through which we identify our client’s goals, explore the potential of the site and program, and nurture the exchange of ideas. We explore a wide range of design solutions and test a variety of options, encouraging and supporting active client participation to arrive at informed and appropriate decisions. As a result, the completed work is truly a unique architectural expression of our clients.
STEWARDSHIP
Archer & Buchanan Architecture understands that when clients build, they are making an enormous commitment of time and money to what is expected to be a valuable and productive investment. We believe our prime responsibility is to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us. This task includes adherence to budget, respect for time and schedule, and the prudent use of land, labor, natural resources and materials. Our design should enhance its environment and grow in value over time.
