Lecture and slide show by Aaron V. Wunsch, assistant professor in the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate Program in Historic Preservation, and Joseph E. B. Elliott, renowned photographer and Professor of Art at Muhlenberg College, featuring PECO’s famous power stations of the early 20th century. Included will be the three power plants that received AIA Philadelphia’s 2002 Landmark Building Award – Chester, Richmond, and Delaware stations. The social and political climate that produced these magnificent buildings will be discussed, along with technical descriptions of the buildings, which were both architectural and engineering marvels of their time.
