"CONVERGENT SYSTEMS AND THE DECLINE OF AUTONOMOUS DESIGN"
Widely published and the recipient of many awards, Randall Stout has established an international profile in a remarkably short time. A graduate of University of Tennessee and Rice University, Stout worked for Frank Gehry before establishing his own firm in Los Angeles in 1996. His firm has created a wide variety of building types—from art museums to industrial facilities to houses--and his buildings are known for their dynamic forms and state of the art technology. Recognized for producing some of the world’s most distinguished sustainable architecture, he has also forged innovative and productive collaborations with other designers and specialists across the globe. His work was recently included in the exhibit “A New Sculpturalism” held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
