Robert J. Hotes, AIA, LEED AP Named to 2010 AIA Diversity Council

Jan 15, 2010

John Milner Architects, Inc. is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Robert J. Hotes, AIA, LEED AP has been appointed to the 2010 AIA Diversity Council by 2010 AIA President George H. Miller, FAIA.

The charge of the Diversity Council is to ensure that the work of the AIA Diversity and Inclusion initiative is aligned with the AIA Diversity Action Plan and the AIA Strategic Plan. In 2008, the AIA drafted a five-year Diversity Action Plan that will influence diversity initiatives through 2013. In broad terms, the goal of the Diversity Action Plan is to move the AIA forward to become a more inclusive professional organization that reflects the changing dynamics of the population served by architects now and in the future. The membership of that future organization will be characterized by the multiple perspectives, backgrounds and skills of its members who represent its voice in the design and construction industry.

Through its transformation, the AIA hopes to lead the profession and the Academy to also become more inclusive and to sustain their relevance in the future as well.
