The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the Lancaster County Planning Commission (LCPC) its 2009 Overall Excellence Award for the "Envision Lancaster County" master plan. WRT's creation of the Growth Management Plan, Green Infrastructure Plan, Long-Range Transportation plan, and several regional/multi-municipal plans were foremost contributors to the Lancaster County plan. David Rouse, WRT Principal, said, "This citation is a major recognition of the efforts of many, particularly the LCPC, who have worked exceedingly hard to implement the master plan. It has been a joy working with LCPC."
San Diego's Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) awarded the Downtown San Diego Parks Open Space and Recreation Master Plan project to Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects /WRT team last week. The Master Plan's purpose is to provide guidance to the CCDC Board, City Council, Redevelopment Agency, staff, various advisory committees, and the general public on the actions necessary to carry out the intent of the Downtown Community Plan for parks, open space, and recreational opportunities.
The recently released "Becoming a Landscape Architect" by Kelleann Foster, RLA, ASLA includes a chapter contributed by WRT Principal Ignacio Bunster-Ossa, ASLA. Foster said to Bunster-Ossa, "I want to express my sincere gratitude for your contribution to this book - I am so pleased to include your insightful ideas and perspectives! Your views form a crucial core of the book."
