WRT Announces Two New Principals

Wallace Roberts & Todd is proud to announce the promotions of Amy Carpenter, AIA LEED AP, and David Rouse ASLA, AICP, LEED AP, to the position of principal.

Amy is an architect with 15 years of design, documentation, and management experience in a variety of project types but mainly focusing on residential work of all scales. Since joining the firm in 2003, Amy has lead the WRT team working on senior living residences for Erickson Retirement Communities, overseeing all of the Erickson work for regional teams working on 11 projects in eight states. Amy played an important role in developing a new prototype design for Erickson that incorporates the special requirements for care of residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. In addition, Amy has worked to bring a more sustainable design approach to the projects she oversees. WRT has benefited from her many organizational, efficiency, and quality control ideas, and she is recognized and valued in the firm for her senior living expertise.

David is a certified planner and registered landscape architect with nearly 30 years of diverse experience in community planning, design, and implementation. He has managed a number of WRT's major community planning projects, including comprehensive plans, park and open space plans, specific area plans, and preparation of zoning regulations and development standards. His work has been recognized with many awards and he has presented on various topics at numerous national and regional planning conferences. A WRT employee for 21 years, David has a special interest in sustainable planning and design and is also an adjunct instructor of City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania.
