All attendees will receive an L&I booklet with all instructional forms, design forms, and frequently used code bulletins. Questions will be encouraged during the presentation.
Attendees will:
Be able to identify applications types, prerequisite approvals and submittal requirements
Learn to assess design criteria and evaluate code requirements for plan submittals
Gain knowledge in the administrative provisions of the Philadelphia code including the use of code bulletins and technical directives and code interpretations
Learn to specify and design specifically to the Philadelphia environment
Receive information governing unique activities within the code such as the special inspections program and explore the ICC intent of the special inspections format as described in Chapter 17 of the International Building Code
Gain knowledge of how the Philadelphia Code formats and administers the special inspections program. Departmental forms will be presented as part of the presentation
Learn about topics on Philadelphia specific requirements including in-fill type residential construction for one a two family dwellings, wall bracing design and plan submittal requirements and fire sprinkler requirements for residential occupancies
Receive information on requirements of commercial and high rise construction and how it relates to the Philadelphia Building Code
